When Lorraine visited Vietnam in 2002 she was planning to travel from Danang to Hanoi by train. However flooding rains forced the trains to a stop so she had to fly. In 2005 the weather was perfect and we managed to get tickets on a "soft sleeper" to Hanoi from Danang. We travelled on a train called the Reunification Express. The rail system is very efficient and it is not difficult to book seats or to find your way to the correct train.
