The mountain villages are charming to the eye but life can be very tough at times for the minority tribes. Boredom could easily set in and create despair. People do seem to be busy and village life has its daily chores if animals are to survive and people are to be clothed and fed. Fortunately the land is excellent for agriculture and there appears to be enough food for everyone. Water buffalo are used extensively as there is little mechanized planting or harvesting. A number of homes in the village have television and so their house becomes a magnet for young and old.
