We had lunch in a small village on the Mekong. It was a charming place to stop and walk around. The lunch venue had some nice self contained units attached which were of bamboo construction. The village market was quite basic but a good sample of small town trading. The main village church was very spanish in appearance and could have easily been in Mexico. Life in the village is quite slow as depicted by the empty mechanics workshop.
