The Thu Bon River which flows through the town gives it life and character. Boats travel up and down the river and fishing nets can be seen in many places. No visit to Hoi An would be complete without a trip on the river. There are lots of little river taxis who will take you for short or long trips. We were enchanted by the river in the late afternoon when we took a river taxi back to the hotel. The owner was a real character and you might like to print out his picture to take with you to Hoi An. He will not be hard to find.
