Hoi An is a wonderful place to visit. The people are remarkably friendly and the shopping is the best in the country. The city has a population of nearly 76,000 people and it is located beside the Thu Bon River. The old town has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site. After we had checked into the resort we walked across the bridge to the main town and had cocktails and a snack in the Brother's Cafe. It is more expensive than many of the local cafes but definitely worth a visit. With excellent views of the river is was a great place to start.
