Our favorite museum in Hanoi is the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. Designed with the assistance of the Musee de l'Homme in Paris it has an interesting collection of handicrafts, clothing and day to day objects relating to the tribal people of Vietnam. The displays are labelled in English, French and Vietnamese and the layout is spacious. The Museum is about 15 minutes by taxi from the Old Quarter and well worth a visit. The Museum has full scale models of authentic village houses and meeting places.
