The little old lady selling chewing gum is so typical of the charming surprises that await you in Hanoi. We've seen people wheeling weighing machines through the street and lots of other oddities. The Army Museum has a Soviet built MiG-21 jet and the wreckage of a B52 bomber plus many displays and representations of the wars and revolutions that have dogged Vietnam. After visiting the Army Museum I was fortunately enough to see real soldiers on parade in the park opposite the museum.
