Hanoi also has many modern buildings and some of great culture like the Hanoi Opera House. The International Post office at the far end of the Lake is a good place to go if you need to ship things home. We booked our tour to Sapa through Queen Travel and found their service very good. No doubt you'll be taking lots of digital photos and will need to have these backed up on CD. Close to Queen Travel is a photo store that did a good job with my photos. They can burn direct from your camera flash card to CD rather than downloading the images to their PC.
