As you would expect Hanoi has many museums. The Ho Chi Minh Museum has been built to celebrate the life of Ho Chi Minh and his revolutionary cause. The construction of the Museum began in 1985 and was finished 5 years later. Ho Chi Minh is presented as "a hero of national liberation and a great man of culture". The Museum will give you a real flavour for the history of Vietnam and is well worth a visit. The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is close to the Museum and attracts many visitors who are prepared to patiently queue for a long time to see Ho Chi Minh. The Mausoleum is not open every day so check at your hotel for opening hours.
