Halong Bay has quite a few caves and grottoes, some of which are only accessible with charter boat. The tour guides love to draw attention to the penis-shaped rock outcrop in Hang Sung Sot. The lighting has been deliberately chosen to highlight the theme. The cave seems to be standing up well to the pressure of tourism and will delight visitors for many years to come. Additional buildings and facilities are being constructed close to the shore. It is quite entertaining to see how the houseboats hussle for position. Nevertheless it all seems to work well.
