We stayed overnight at Cat Ba Island and at 9.30am the following morning were taken back to the bustling port to board our boat and return to Halong City and then by bus to Hanoi. The tour guide for APT Travel asked is to complete an evaluation of the trip. We thought that the crew, guide and houseboat were first class. We suggested that overnighting at a quiet tropical island might be a better option than Cat Ba. Our only genuine complaint was that the mini-bus that took us from Hanoi to Halong Bay was too small. We trust that APT Travel will be so profitable that they will be able to trump the other tourist companies with a much larger, roomier bus. We booked out tour through Queens Travel in Hanoi and would highly recommend them.
