It is interesting to see the "water villages" that consist of brightly colored houses with interlinking bamboo pontoons. These houses must have the best views in Vietnam. While they look good in fine weather it could be a different story in bad weather. The houses mainly belong to fishing families. The galvanised iron roofs in different colors make these villages very attractive. You'll see more of these villages in the next set of photos.

Watching the world go by at a steady gentle pace. A small village in the shadows of limestone islands. This house has unbelievable views - a marvellous aspect to say the least. Away from the maddening crowds. Limestone island with private beach. Around every corner something new awaits. Clear view to the Gulf of Tonkin. The islands are very poetic.
